On Friday, May 17, Nikki McCain had accompanied her husband, Tyler McCain and his family to the hospital to visit his brother Brian McCain, who had been hospitalized due to a medical emergency.

 

At approximately 11:30 p.m., Nikki sent a brief text message to her sister, Chloe Saelee, stating that she was driving a Chevy Tahoe belonging to her mother-in-law, Jeanette Hayward-McCain. Jeanette, a Redding Rancheria tribal member, resides on the Redding Rancheria near Win-River Casino.

Nikki later texted Chloe (after midnight, now on Saturday, May 18th) indicating that she had driven to her home on Olinda Rd. in Happy Valley, CA (in Jeanette's vehicle). Shortly after, she may have returned her mother-in-law's vehicle back to her home at the Redding Rancheria.

A week later, on May 24, Nikki's Chevy Avalanche was found abandoned off Highway 36 near Beegum Rd.

 

No one has heard from or seen Nikki since.
